fake out

a wise rapper once merged his creative genius
with some rising pop stars
to coin a phrase that will echo
through memories of our late teenage years:
"it's too late to apologize"

i said a blogger "bon voyage" not 20 hours ago
but sometimes an influx of good vibes...
products of a last day well spent
with free falafel, frolicking, and friends...
make me want to spread the nikon love.

(thanks, mom and dad)

is that such a crime!? will "sorry" cut it this time!?
or does timbaland ft. one republic prove true AGAIN?

bye. for reals this time.

you should be listening to: taylor swift (
you're not sorry); alkaline trio (sorry about that); akon (sorry, blame it on me)

that my life will actually be worth reading about

after i leave israel.

the weepies (world spins madly on)

by the numbers

2,000ish

years since Jesus made his triumphal entry into Lion's Gate
flanked by throngs of people
waving their own palms

54
minutes of hearing the wonderful jeffrey r. holland instruct us
on simple truths about being
the very best
versions of ourselves
("welcome to your future")

more days in this entirely perfect city

you should be listening to:
bon iver (woods); fleet foxes (white winter hymnal)

today...

...is my last day of college

an overhaul of freshman shenanigans, semesters abroad, new friends,
apartment life, classes that were easy, most that were hard,
weddings and other such grown up things

and one final utah semester with this looker:

it's come down to 2 little tests and a night in Jerusalem

sounds like a most fitting way
to spend this milestone of a friday

there are some things i will apologize for.
but i will never apologize
for partying.

you should be listening to: jay-z (thank you)

13.4.11

back to reality

leaving in seven days would be quite a bit harder
if i wasn't going back to these ones:

"whoever did not see Jerusalem in its days of glory
never saw a beautiful city in their life"
(talmud: succah 51b)

...yeah. it's still going to be a tad tough.

you should be listening to: coldplay (see you soon)

12.4.11

dead tired

the consequential lethargy of all day field-tripping
can only be cured by one thing:

floating in 33.7% salinity for an afternoon.

(not quite your average spa day)

you should be listening to: the swell season (the moon); cat power (the greatest)

9.4.11

boy(s) of the week

this is greg

this picture is significant for a lot of reasons.

1. we just got back from the land of the nabaeteans, where this lil gem was snapped
2. he's the apple of my eye. 24 hours flying together. it's love and it's real

this is jared

this picture is significant for some reasons, too.

1. jared and i just chit-chatted, whilst i composed this late night post
2. i miss his guts

this is jordan
